Susan Bennett

Founder & Executive Director of InfoGovANZ

Susan Bennett is the Principal of Sibenco Legal & Advisory and Founder and Executive Director of InfoGovANZ.   Recognised for her global thought leadership in information governance, Susan helps organisations strategically govern and manage their data and information with strategies and solutions that maximise value and minimise risk. Susan brings deep commercial and litigation expertise together with strategic insights to work with cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams on digital transformation projects. Susan’s focus on driving best practice holistic governance solutions aligning data, information, privacy and records with technology and regulatory compliance to achieve organisational goals, led her to found InfoGovANZ in 2016. The mission of InfoGovANZ is to break down the information silos among professionals to enable more connected thinking and innovation for information governance best practice and help drive more holistic solutions linked to global best practice, particularly for data, privacy and cybersecurity. Susan holds a Master of Laws (Syd), a Master of Business Administration (AGSM), and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional – Europe (CIPP/E).  Susan is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia (FGIA) and a member and graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).

Professor Jeffrey Xu Yu

The Chinese University of Hong Kong

Dr Jeffrey Xu Yu is a Professor in the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His current main research interests include graph algorithms, graph processing systems, and query processing in database systems. Dr. Yu served as an Information Director and a member in ACM SIGMOD executive committee (2007-2011), an associate editor of IEEE TKDE (2004-2008), and an associate editor in VLDB Journal (2007-2013). Currently he serves as an associate editor of ACM TODS, WWW Journal, Data Science and Engineering, the International Journal of Cooperative Information Systems, the Journal on Health Information Science and Systems (HISS), and Journal of Information Processing. Dr. Yu served/serves in many organization committees and program committees in international conferences/workshops including PC Co-chair of APWeb’04, WAIM’06, APWeb/WAIM’07, WISE’09, PAKDD’10, DASFAA’11, ICDM’12, NDBC’13, ADMA’14, CIKM’15, Bigcomp17, DSAA’19, CIKM’19, and DASFAA’20, and conference general Co-chair of APWeb’13, ICDM’18, and ADC’22.

Karthik Murugan

Head of Analytics | APJ | Public Sector, Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Karthik Murugan has more than 20 years of experience as an IT professional and has worked with a number of senior roles across different sectors. Karthik shares the passion for innovation in data and analytics fields. As part of World-Wide Specialist Organisation at AWS, Karthik leads AWS Analytics Services with focus on uplifting business value for Public Sector customers in Asia Pacific and Japan region. Bringing experience and learnings from multiple industry sectors, Karthik has worked on several large digital transformation initiatives driven by data. He is focussed on enabling organisations to unlock the value of data using AWS service and partner solutions.

Professor Athula Ginige 

Western Sydney University

Professor Athula Ginige leads the Social Computing and Knowledge Ecosystems Research Program for the School of Computer, Data and Mathematical Sciences at Western Sydney University. The Program develops Social Computing solutions via mobile based systems to a range of applied problems including “Grand Challenges” in agriculture, healthcare, business, and education. Having previously undertaken extensive research in the areas of e-Business and e-Transformation, his current research areas include autonomous and participatory sensor networks, knowledge aggregation and event detection, large scale knowledge organisation based on ontologies and semantic web technologies, context modelling, designing mobile based systems for user empowerment as well as Blockchain and Social Computing. Producing over 250 Journal and Conference publications and receiving the 2016 ACS Digital Disrupter Gold Award, he is a highly sought-after keynote speaker.

A/Prof. Paul Denny

The University of Auckland

Dr Paul Denny is an Associate Professor in the School of Computer Science at the University of Auckland. His research interests include developing and evaluating tools for supporting collaborative learning, particularly involving student-generated resources, and exploring the ways that students engage with digital learning environments. He has been recognized for contributions to teaching both nationally and internationally, receiving New Zealand’s National Tertiary Teaching Excellence Award (2009), the Computing Research and Education Association of Australasia Award for Outstanding Contributions to Teaching (2010), and the QS Reimagine Education Overall Award (2018).
